Dear family,

I am glad to write you today. I hope that all is well in your lives. I apologise to those who I have not written yet. I will be writing you soon. I am sorry that it has taken this long. Things are beginning to pick up here and things will rolling soon. It is simply amazing just how much a little organizing can help in any aspect in life. As we've made it a priority to put things together such that the technicalities be kept in their Que, the spirit and the motivation and I believe the inspiration will begin to flow. The Lord is a Lord of order. For now there isn't a whole lot of activity by way of investigators. We are teaching a lot of less actives. I am grateful to be here. I pray that the Lord will be able to use me this last little bit for all the good that I can help render here. This town is somewhat complacent. I pray and hope that we can help fix that. I know that this Church is true and am infinitely grateful for the peace and happiness that is brings into my life. Thank you guys for all that you and I love you. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for keeping me up to date. And for giving me boosts too. It helps me out a lot. Sounds like everybody is busy. That's good. Well we are still hacking away here in my area. I am sure that we will make some good progress by doing this. I am grateful to be here. I got to go to the Temple this morning. With living in Benton City we live only 10-15 minutes away. So the Lord has provided a way and means that we can still go to Kennewick for things like shopping and the Temple. Well anyway I got to get going. I love you guys and pray for you everyday. Half Mission Zone Conference

Hello everyone,

The past little bit has really been something. Yesterday we had a half Mission Zone Conference for the east side. An area authority namely Elder Ringwood came and spoke to us. He talked to us about sacrifice. It was wonderful. He also showed us this wonderful concept from the perspective of an investigator. He used the account of the woman at the well to teach so many wonderful principles. It has enhanced my understanding of ones personal progress in this process. From ones first encounter with the gospel in its fullest to the events that follow, and how we can, with this understanding, better go about teaching so that they will open their hearts.

I am finding more and more that the principles of success in missionary work revolves so much on others agency and more importantly how they use their agency. If we can get them to hop right on in, the process of receiving personal revelation for themselves, then the flood gates can begin to open, other wise we will just be getting the ones that just about from the get go get it, already there, are golden or other wise so in tune with the spirit it isn't even funny. Which isn't a bad thing just that there are so many others that aren't there and perhaps will never get there unless we go, find them and bring them to it.

I marvel at the thought as I think about the grand scheme of things or the plan of salvation. I think "what I have to do, is it really this complicated and this difficult?". The answer is yes and no. Sometimes I think we get so stinkin' close to the plan that it blurs our vision and totally overcomes us and we reply in an outburst of emotion "WHY!?" There is SOO much to take in". Back up a little bit. Let your vision refocus and you will see the big picture more clearly and REMEMBER it. God is not the author of confusion so no, it isn't that complicated.

As for this being difficult yes, but there is more to this. For one, many times we ourselves make it difficult. By our actions that we make in life, but even more and secondly it is the decisions that are made before the action... you know the ones in your mind and deep in your chest. When you are counting the cost as it were and you make the choice of not only what you are going to do but what you choose to stand for and you go through this little inventory of what I'm going to accept and do out of what the Lord gives me... yeah. That. If we pick and choose, it will just make things harder. We covenanted to keep all His commandments. Not a few. And if we expect to get His help we won't. If we almost keep all the commandments we almost get the blessings. Isn't it just so simple? I think that's awesome! Cutting us some slack, knowing it was gonna be hard enough as it was just to do the task.

Now it's [easier] said than done I know. So there will be times when the situation above isn't the case. This is where the Atonement comes in. Christ knew that our fullest potential here on earth would not be enough to cut it. But we know that's okay. He made it that way. I was writing in a fellow missionary's transfer journal who was feeling like he was a failure as a missionary. He wasn't and I was trying to help him see that. One thing I wrote was this. "Some days we are sent forth with the ability to give 10 points. If we give 8 we under performed. Right? And you know what? Somedays we will be sent forth only with the ability to give 10 points when the day requires 12 points and say you give that 10. Did you fail? No. Because you gave what you had.". And I would end on the note "and that's all the Lord asks of you" but that would be false. The Lord always wants us to pray to Him and when we ask Him for help and we have given our "10" then He will fill in the rest. Then we will make it out on top. Exhausted and depleted of all we had but thoroughly pleased at the accomplishment of the task that was impossible. But was done. How? Through Him. And on top of all that he will give you 12 points. Isn't it wonderful?

I am so thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the profound impact it has had on my life. I know God lives and that His Son Jesus Christ lives to. They love me and care about me. The same goes for everyone else. I am honored to be a apart of this great work. His church is restored and there is a prophet on the earth today. We can develop our own personal relationship with our Heavenly Father. That is such a thrill! To get to know Him and feel His love for you. I know it has been for me. And I will ever rejoice He came for me. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

I know I went on a tangent and sorry for the tone I get a little preachy sometimes I just get so... I guess zealous and just pumped up about it all. And I know that all you know this stuff but I guess I just had other people in mind as I wrote it too. Maybe like friends or whoever you might feel like sharing this with. Dear family,

How are you all doing? Things are going well over here. Investigators are progressing and the Lord's work is moving on. There are 8 new lessons being taught to missionaries to enhance and better their teaching and the spirit is following in it's wake as a testimony that it is indeed apart of the Lord's work and is inspired of Him. I know that this is true and I am indebted to Him for being apart of this work. I am short on time but I just wanted to tell you all that I love you and am grateful that I am associated with you. The Lord loves His children and we are all His children. I will tell you that it is primarily or at least in part involves questions that are inspired of the spirit. Hey Mom and Dad and everybody!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the happy birthday! And the package to. I haven't "looked inside it" yet. Like I mean I opened it but then I felt like I should wait so I did. Thought I'd save it for my birthday. Heh I don't know if I'm prepared for this :0. Just one of those things where you are like..." Hmm that came up alot faster than I expected.'. Well alot of things are comin' up. We have one person on date for baptism. Her name is Robin. I don't know if I told you this or not but here it goes. We also have two other people as potentials for baptism. They are Audra and Brandon. Audra is married to Jeff who is less active. They are really into baseball and have been coming out to play baseball next to the church. It is an event that the ward has put on for those who want to play. Audra is a really outstanding lady. She has taught her children amazing principles and morals and this she did before she met Jeff so no influence from the church yet. Her children are really mature and respectful. We hope to baptize them as well. A couple of weeks ago the family came to church and were welcomed abundantly which I believe the husband who is less active he didn't expect. I am soo grateful for members when they do their part. They can be soo much more effective [than] missionaries could ever be sometimes. Like with Audra a year ago she wouldn't have a gospel topic conversation. And now we are teaching her the Plan of Salvation! Periodically through out our lessons with her she will chuckle and shake her head and say "I can't believe that we are talking [about] this.". I think of this truth taught by an Apostle of the Lord the study of doctrine will change behavior better then study of behavior will change behavior. Audra one day was on the road when her tire went flat. In her words she said that she was a big girl and knew how to take care of herself but a man stopped by and fixed her tire. With that thanks were said and he left. People doing random acts of kindness. It stood out to her as she had grown up around people who really didn't do that sort of thing. A few weeks later a strong wind blew down a tree onto her car. Jeff called the Elders quorum and they came. during the project Audra came out and the man who was operating the chainsaw looked really familiar. It was him! Who is that guy? she asked. That is Brother so and so from church. He replied. Because of those small acts of kindness she opened her doors to us and now we are teaching her. Our examples make a difference. If we did that, I don't know if it would be the same outcome. I am thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and I know it's true. I am thankful to be out here I know there are alot of changes back at home good and bad but it is okay. I know you know that too. Like Mom said the Gospel is true so what else matters. I have felt His protection and do feel His protection over me. It is real. Not a metaphorical thing. Well I have to go but I will talk to you all later. Thank you all for everything that you do. The Work

Hey Family!

Well I thought I'd drop you all a line and tell what's going on over here.

Yesterday, Tuesday, we had our first interviews with President Greer. He is a very kind man. I am thankful that he has been sent here to be our Mission President. This past week we taught a part member family named the Place family. We taught them about commandments and how that through Jesus Christ we can be filled with His love and achieve those things he wants us to achieve. The wife, who is not a member, then began to comment that the members are good people. She told us about how that she thought of people that were good or kind and then find out later on down the road that they were members. One such experience was of a man who stopped by one day to help her on the side of the road when she had a flat tire. She said that she could do it on her own but this man came and helped and then left. Several months later a tree was blown down in her yard because of the winds that day. Because her husband is a member he knew of the elders quorum and called and they came. Among the many people that were there one of them looked familiar. It was that same man that had changed her tire. She asked her husband who he was. He told her Brother Kibbe. Brother Kibbe is the Elders Quorum President and did a charitable act and didn't even tell her who he was. That simple act of kindness moved a mountain and he had forgotten about it till this Sunday when it was announced at priesthood meeting. He just did what Jesus Christ would do and moved on. Our example does make a difference even out in the middle of nowhere on a long stretch of road. And I am confident that our Heavenly Father is happy when we do it.

And hi everybody

Today I was on an exchange with another missionary in a different area and we taught a lady that they had tracted into earlier. It was a wonderful experience. We taught her the first lesson, the restoration. I felt the spirit there. I became more cognisant of how my teaching was. Did I teach to much to soon, did I miss the mark or did I let the spirit guide my actions and guide me in what I taught? I felt fairly good about the appointment I just hope that I didn't get in the way of what the spirit had to say. It was amazing as we taught her in her home. We first sat down and began to speak with her. She explained her reason for having us come back and whey she was interested. She wanted to know what the Mormons believe and what sets us apart from everyone else and also what is so different about one religion from another. Aren't they all pretty much the same? Now that last line I just wrote she didn't actual say but I knew that that was what she was getting at. She wasn't antagonistic towards us but just had honest questions and we answered them. It was such a... happy, is really the best word to describe it, feeling to teach her these things. I KNEW that they were true. I was testifying TO her of truth. I could see at times her looking back into my eyes which I have experienced before in other lessons. An investigator searching, knowingly or unknowingly, for the missionary's conviction in the message that he or she is proclaiming. In the language of the soul "Do you really believe this? Is this really true? How do you know?" in essence this is what they yearn for and often cry out silently. This lady though she stated that she was curious mainly about what we believe and just wanted to know what was out there, really was wanting to know what IS the truth? But she did not know where to find it. I know that each of us are searching for truth and will continue to search for it until we find it. We are spirit children and we need truth. With out knowledge we feel a emptiness inside like starving. We, all of us, are sent for to serve the Lord as He said " feed My lambs... feed My sheep". I know that this gospel is true and I am thankful to be out here. I hope to hear from you guys soon and I love you. Thanks for everything. Bye.

Dear Everybody,

It is so wonderful to write you today. In recent news I have been transferred to a place called Zillah. It is near Yakima which is somewhat close to Kennewick. It is somewhat like the central valley back at home. It is desert like and lots of farm land. I feel at home here more than another area I've served. I am mainly serving amongst alot of Native Americans. It is a interesting experience. I am thankful that the Lord sent me here. At first I was sad because I wanted to continue to serve in Vancouver but it is okay I've found, I feel at home here. I am grateful to be in the service of the Lord. I know that this church really is Christ's Church and that He leads it. How grateful I am to be apart of it. I know that if we follow Him our righteous desires will be realized and our purpose here on earth will be achieved. There is no better feeling than true happiness and fulfillment that comes from knowing that you did you part in His plan. Thank you for supporting me with your prayers on my behalf. They do not go unanswered. I know we are all sent here for a reason. Don't let satan fool you into thinking that you are not an important part of this plan. You are. And you are one of His sons or His daughters and He loves you very much. He cares about and He watches over day and night. You are not a side note to His agenda. In fact you are His agenda. I know this because there is no other more loving, patience and caring individual than the Lord and you are His focus. On Him we can rely on for strength, comfort guidance and love and everything else too. Hello Everyone,

It is so wonderful to hear from you and to write you. How greatful I am for the multiplicity of blessings that our Lord affords us daily. From the sounds of things everyone is real busy. I am so greatful for work and other things that we are given to do. It is a blessing for the soul. We to have been blessed to have much to do. Last weekend I was able to participate in a baptismal service and witness the Lord working in lives of some of His children. The Lord does care. This I know. Thank you all for everything that you do. Your smallest acts of kindness brightens my day to the brim. Some well known and others not as well known. Today it is in it's 60-70s and overcast, with a little bit of rain here and there. Doh! I just now realized. Congratz Sam and Krista! Welcome Kaylynn! I hope I spelled that right:). I am so glad that things worked out. How is Krista doing? How are you doing? How is Kaylynn doing? I love that. That is such a cool name. Well I best be gettin' but I sure love you guys. I know the gospel is true and that IT CHANGES LIVES. It isn't a joke nor a scam. The power of Jesus Christ is real and His Exsistance, presence and care for us, His children, is undenieable. I know this is true and unfailing. His love is real, I have felt it for me. Well this week has been a good week. Last weekend one of our investigators, Maria was baptized and it was wonderful. It came at a time when a set interesting circumstances fell into play. She was in our ward then there was some boundery changes that made it so that she was in another ward so she was baptized in their ward. So I think a total of like three seperate wards were involved in her baptisimal service. It was something else. It rains off and on here with a all day dampness that also hits and misses. But I like for the most part. It's quite green here as well. I am greatul for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Plan of Salvation is real and what comfort that brings in my life. Trials happen for a reason. Just keep on goin a along, you'll pass though it. I know the power of prayer is real. The more seriously you take Heavenly Father's Plan and His teachings, the more He will take you seriously. The more dilligent you are with what He has given you the more dilligent He will be in answering and giving you more. It's just making the step and making that choice after that anything is possible of that and of Him I testify. I love you all and I appoligize that I was not able to call everyone. But please know this that I love you all. I am greatful for the time when I will be able to see you again. I hope all is well. Well I will talk to you all later and I hope you have a great day. Hey Mom and Dad and Alisa and everyone.

I am sorry that this is a week late. Last week I forgot to bring a piece of paper that has my account information, I changed my myldsmail account due to the new myldsmail they've made. I was pretty grrrr that that happened. We have three people on date. One for the 17th and two for the 24th. Today is overcast with the sun breaking through a little bit. We hikkied Multinoma Falls today, it would be my second time. It was cold, misty and wet. It was a good experience. How are you guys? That was a pretty cool and a good experience to watch General Conference. At times I thought about you guys that you were watching it to as I was. I think I got a lot more out of it this time then I have when at home. I think being placed in this situation has helped me realized how important it is to have a prophet speak to us today. The work is going forward and it is good to be apart of it. I love you all and I hope that you all are having a great day. How are you?! ... Whats going on in your life? ... Well things are going well over here. We baptized two ladies and confirmed them this last Sunday. It was a big experience. It has been shifting to Spring over here heh but the funny thing is that like in a car it's not exactly wanted to shift and the gears are grinding. Yesterday it was spring (60 degrees, Sun shining & and trees blosseming) then today it's back to like 40 degrees and over cast. But its okay I just find it interesting. What is it like back at home? Dear Family,

Hey sorry I missed last week to e-mail. A lot of wonderful things are happening here. Two people will be baptized this weekend (Missy Hall and Amanda Baldmwin). Both are stalwert and have overcomed firey darts chucked at them. We are happy for them. We commited another person to be baptized. The Lord has blessed us abundently and still is. How are you all? If you can I want to know. I love you all. God does hear and answers prayers. How comforting that is to know, that when you are putting up a petion up to him, He is listening. He knows how you feel because He's been there. This comforts me. Yesterday it snowed at of nowhere. It was fun though I was under a roof. Elder Tidd is working hard with in this work. He is a good compaion and Missionary. Thank you all for listening to me a putting up with me. It is such a wonderful feeling to have a the strenth and support of your whole family behind you. Thank you. I want to bear you my testimony that this work is real. Being caught back up again into the complacated pursuits of life I'm sure it is dificult to lose focus of that. But I am blessed to be in this work and this truth is before me and it warms my heart. So when this get though just remember the gospel is true and peace an calmness will come back to you. Sorry I didn't write you all last week. I wanted to but the computer kicked me off. How is every one? Well we are working pretty hard over here and its getting pretty crazy over here but in a good way. Its raining over here and that makes things interesting hehe. But it is okay. The Lord is really blessing us when it rains we get wet but the temperture it such that we don't get cold. I actually feel warm to be honest. The Lord is merciful. I love you guys and want you to know that I pray for you everynight and the Lord blesses me everyday out here because of your prayers. Doors open, I am picked up when I stumble and I'm protected from dangers so much that most of the time I don't even know that there was something there to harm me. Don't worry I am well looked after. Hello everyone!

Its me again. Things are doing pretty well over here. The work is progressing forward. The beauty of seeing the mercies, wisdom and infinite love the Lord has for His children is simply wonderful. As I think on this I feel calm and happy inside. How blessed I am. To be in assocation with servants of the Lord who live in accordance with the laws set forth is wonderful for it has had its effect on me. I am thankful to be here. Its has been getting pretty cold over here and about a week ago there was snow in the place called "Hanford" above and the mountains below us. We experienced some frost but that was about it. I thought it was interesting that the snow strom went around us or at least that is what it appeard to be. Personally I think the Lord was very kind and cognsent of us. Well I might as well tell you all what happend:). No nothing bad I assure you. Remember me telling you that something really awesome and cool was about to happen up here? Well here it is. On November 14th Saturday 2009 Elder Jeffery R. Holland visited the entire Washington Kennewick Mission at 2:15pm! It was one of the most awesome experiences I have had on my mission, shish! in my life! I got to shake his hand and look straight into his eye. It was wonderfully teiorrfying! Sorry I stink at spelling. He TORE us down and built us right up! I will NEVER forget it! Well I got to go but I love you all so much! Tell me whats going on on your guys' end. I love you guys and tell me how Dad is doing And you to :) Love ya! Bye!

Hello Everybody

I appoligize for not writing you, I should say that the letter did not get sent to you. Appearently I sent it to an address that did not exsist due to my mispelling. I sent it off just today. I want you all to know that I am doing fine and I love you all. I just wanted to let you know that the reason you have been hearing little from is because I have been emptying my inbox on myldsmail.net. It has been a little longer then usual because I have to copy and paste alot. Every transfer changes alot of things in your area but this one has changed alot. Much of the people here have been swaped out. But I am greatful I have been kept here because there is much to do and I love the people here. This is the first place that I think I can call my first area. For several reasons but the most part it is because this is my first area that I have been left in. As such much of our succsess has been pending on how well I know the area and the people and so has proved to be a growing experience for me being like a catalyste or.... whatever :). I know the gospel is true and I love you. Tell me whats going everybody. I love to hear from you if you got a moment. Oh and Mom I want you to know you are not naging I appreciate you writing those sort of things very much it has helped me stay grounded many times. Thank you for all you do Mom. And thank you all for all you do. Well I'm stickin' around with my companion from last transfers which is awesome because we had a blast! Well I love you guys. Here is my basic day.
6:30 wake up and work out (Grrr I hate this part in the morning:) )
7:00 shower and eat
8:00 Personal study (My time to be spiritally Nurished)
9:00 Companionship study (share what we learn with each other)
10:00 get out and work (Sometimes we tract)
12:00 Lunch (sometimes we go out)
1:00 Out again(many times we stop by appiontments previously set and others we just drop by out of the blue)
5:00 Dinner (usually at a members house)
7:00 Exchanges( see people we've set appiontments with and others we just drop by and try to have a lesson)
9:00 get home and have "Sacred 30" and plan
10:30 in bed and lights out (Yay! ZZZZZzzzzzz)

I support you Mom and Dad. I know that what you both are doing is an extreamly important thing for our country but just know it means a heck of alot more to all of us. You go Mom and Dad!!!!! I love you both!

Hi everybody!

How is everyone doing? I am soo glad that everyone is starting to feel better and are getting better.

Hey Mom I will send a package to you soon. In it contains actual pictures and cds that have pictures on them. I feel really bad I haven't sent them yet because there are so many pictures on there and there is one picture that is of me with the Portland temple in the background. I took this 4 1/2 to 6 months ago. Sorry about that but they are comin now. I'll be sure to take more pictures of me and others. I'm sorry I was procrastinating and somewhere along the line I came under the impression that the plaque was already assembled. And I feel bad I didn't send them after the many times you said you wanted to have some pictures. Well they're a comin.

I love you guys. I'm pround of you Dad. I'm pround of all of you! You are ALL making outstanding strides in your lives and are setting a huge example for me! What a blessing to have such a family as mine! I want you all to know that I look up to you I really do. You give me such comfort to know you are all mine for all eternity and I am yours. I am sorry if I failed to reply back to you any of you but I'm gonna try to get back to you. Thank you for your example. Thank you for your love and support it really is appreacited. I am greatful for the gosple of Jesus Christ. It makes me free. Of this there is no doubt. May we all be free and not be ensnared by the traps set by satan. Remember we are all gonna be there. Hi everybody!

Sorry I just sent you a message but the site "myldsmail.net" bumped me off and erased my message grrr oh well. thats okay. I'll just paraphrase.

I love you all sooo much. I'm sorry that the message I sent you didn't go through last time. How are you all? Hows Mom and Dad? Hows your health Dad? And Mom how are ya doin? Things are going well over here. Its raining and I love it. I love rain as you can all tell:). Well did anybody get hurt when the trees fell over? Is everything alright?

Would you send me some more pictures of the family and all. That would be wonderful if you could. I gonna start e-mailing you all again I feel bad that haven't for sometime. Just wanted to let you know.

Well something awesome is gonna happen over here but I can't tell you what until afterwards but beleive me I'll tell ya when it does. Well I got to get gettin.

The church IS true. The fullness of the gospel has been revealed. How greatflul I am for that. I testify that it is true. ANYONE can know for themselves. Isn't that awesome!!! I invite all of us to share the gospel with one person this week. I promise you that you will be even happier than you are right now. The spirit of this wonderful work will permeate through you as you testify of Jesus Christ and His divine Sonship. That His church has been restored upon the earth again. I invite you to share this and promise you that you will be glad you did no matter the out come. Its Ironic almost how that we find the greastest happiness and joy from serving others and not ourselves. I would have thought it was the other way around! Heh but you know what now that I've trod alittle of that path Im glad that it is this way. I know this is true and I invite us to do this and I know that our Heavenly Father will bless us for it.

Thank you all for being my family. I really am being serious. Thank you and lets love each other tell we're black and blue (figurtively). Don't want anybody passing out that wouldn't be good:).
